Energy consumption (kWh) and (RM) for FTKEK (FKEKK) for 2024

FTKEK Achieves Nearly 18% Energy Savings in First Half of 2025

FTKEK has successfully reduced its electricity consumption by 17.88% in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Total usage dropped from 652,212 kWh in 2024 to 535,604 kWh in 2025. This improvement is largely due to the LED lamp replacement program, which was fully completed in the second half of 2024 and has since lowered the baseline energy usage across faculty buildings.

Notably, significant reductions were recorded in May (25.35%), April (24.58%), and June (20.48%), showing the effectiveness of the initiative. While some increments were noted in certain months of 2024 due to weekend part-time courses and professional certification course which requiring centralized air-conditioning and chiller operation, however the overall trend remains positive.

FTKEK will continue to strengthen energy-saving measures by combining infrastructure upgrades with better operational strategies, ensuring that sustainability remains a shared responsibility among staff and students.

LCC 2030 Challenge Programme 2024
